It’s a @Bowmore bottle kill!
This sherry cask finished whisky is rusted golden amber in colour, but when served in a @NorlanGlass, it actually resembles Irn Bru – Scotland’s other national drink!
A beautiful balance on the nose; notes of dried fruits, smoky peat, malt, green apples, and toffee. A blend of warming spices, demerara and sultanas have me yearning for a slice of fried Scottish fruit pudding. 🤤
On the palate, an initial sweetness reveals a distinct sherry influence, overcome by a fog of peat smoke. This dram has great complexity; freshly cracked black pepper, salted caramel, malt, orange peel, kippers, treacle, and a favourite of mine, Portuguese Custard Tarts.👌🏻
Overall this is a wonderfully balanced, full bodied, sherry forward dram with a smoky peated finish.
Happy #ThirstyThursday, friends.
